We are currently looking to bring in a Laboratory Technician within our Pellets product category, supporting in the development of our next generation of Notpla materials.

The Laboratory Technician will report directly into our Head of Formulation & Process. You will work closely with our amazing team of scientists and engineers, supporting in the day to day needs of the lab as we look to diversify our commercial product offering and push the boundaries of what is currently possible in the world of sustainable packaging.

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Lab Technician to support our R&D team in developing and testing innovative natural polymer materials. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, with an interest in materials science, chemistry, or engineering. You will gain hands-on experience in a lab environment, working with cutting-edge materials and processes while developing key analytical and technical skills. As well as the above your other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct mechanical property testing (tensile, flexural, impact, and hardness tests).

  • Measure and analyse material properties, including density, melt flow index (MFI) and contact angle measurements.

  • Assist with extrusion and processing of biomaterials for further testing.

  • Assist in preparing and testing polymer formulations in a laboratory setting.

  • Maintain lab equipment, ensure safe working practices, and follow lab protocols.

  • Accurately record and report experimental data in a useful format.

  • Facilitate external testing where required.

£28,800 - £34,000 + Equity
